Please note: No Bayer personnel or Bayer family members may take part in this competition. For both categories, the nominee will be judged on the following two aspects:

Involvement in the farming practice = 60%
Community involvement = 40%

Criteria on which the judging process will be based:

Involvement in the farming practice (60%)

(In this section, we are focusing on the role of the farmer’s wife in the farming operation, whether through her physical involvement (e.g., by dealing with certain aspects of the farming operation such as the finances) or through the emotional support she offers her husband.)

Please answer the following questions:

Community (40%)

(With this facet of the competition, we are focusing on the candidate’s involvement in the broader community, whether at a school, a feeding scheme, the church or any other charity organisation.)

WHAT PRIZES WILL BE UP FOR GRABS?

Two winners will be announced. The winner in the category for female farmer of the year, will win R15 000 worth of products while the winner in the farmer’s wife category will win R10 000 to be donated to a charity of her choice. Both winners will also receive a R2 000 voucher from Bayer, a R1 500 voucher from Uppe Marketing and three signed books by author, Milanie Vosloo.

When will the winners be announced?

All valid participants will be invited to a special event in September. The finalists and winners will be announced at the event.
